Fantastic piece of history! Antique spur, made by the North & Judd company, with the company's anchor hallmark impressed into bottom. This would make a fun conversational decor piece on a stack of coffee table books or in a bookcase!

A little history:
The North & Judd Manufacturing Company dates back to James North's blacksmith shop in New Britain, Connecticut during the Revolutionary War. The company expanded and in 1832 shifted production focus from sleigh bells and wire products to saddles and harness hardware. In 1863 Lorin F. Judd bought an increased interest in the H.F. North & Company and the company was incorporated and took its present name. In 1878 they began stamping their products with the anchor symbol, a reflection of their marine hardware, and after they acquired Buermann Manufacturing Company in 1926 they began using the star symbol mark as well. North & Judd Manufacturing Company was the world's dominate bit and spur manufacturers until the end of World War II
